June 13 Letter from Amalija

The letter below was sent to us just today (June 13) from Amalija in which she is excited, rejoicing, and praising God for the way appears to be opening for her.

Dear Michelle, Alan, Brynn and Jolee,

Let me first share with you one story from my daily reading, I find it interesting, since it is applicable to my present situation, so here it goes:

Four guys decided to go mountain climbing. In the middle of the climb one fellow slipped over a cliff, dropped about sixty feet and landed with a thud on the ledge below. The other three, hoping to rescue him, yelled, "Joe, are you ok?" He replied, "I'm alive, but I think I broke both my arms". The three said, "We'll toss a rope down to you and pull you up." "Fine," answered Joe.

After dropping one end of the rope they started tugging, working feverishly to pull their wounded friend to safety. When they had him about three-fourths of the way up, they suddenly remembered that he said he'd broken both his arms. "Joe! If you broke both of your arms, how in the world are you hanging on?" Jaw taut, Joe responded, "With my teeeeeeth."

Some days the best we can do is just hang on by the skin of our teeth. We have times when we don't have the answers and can't see the way forward; all we can do is look up and trust God to pull us through; and He does. We should trust God totally since He's the God who raises the dead!

You're one of those very special people who bring joy to everyone who knows you! I was amazed when I read about the garage sale and when I saw that you have a section on your website just about my need and the way people can support me...no one has ever did something like this for me. I'm so moved with all what you are doing to help me coming to George Fox, you are my gift from God. Thank you, thank you, thank you...

After I have informed all my friends and some churches about my need I received few responses. One family from Virginia, whom I met in Prague, they have offered their help, and few days ago they have deposited money to my student account. Today when I have checked my financial form online, I saw that another friend of mine from US sent [money] to my account. Another family from US who were missionaries here in Serbia, they are interested to help me according to their ability, and have promised to contact me when they will have more specific information's about what they can do for me.

I'm also waiting an answer from a Romanian Church from Canada who took interest in my situation, and finally my friend from Hungary sent her promised support for books. Praise the Lord, oh my soul, Praise the Lord!!! God is at work! When I'll have new information's I will write you. I pray that this will be soon.
