Sweet Moments

Today was one of those ordinary days that can easily just be filed away as plain and simple.  But sitting here at 11:37pm I can think of nothing sweeter than a day full of my regular, nothing spectacular, simply miraculous-life.

Jolee got new flip-flops today.  The big deal about these is that they are made "with hay on the bottom-just like Graces'."  After mommy purchased these half price flip-flops at Fred Meyer, Jolee proceeded to wear them through Bi-Mart. stopping to tell a Bi-Mart employee, "I got these at Fred Meyers-they sound like pop-its when I jump, see!?"  She then proceeded to jump all throughout Bi-Mart making loud fireworks sounds with her new shoes.  Headache anyone?  It was worth it.
I ate dinner if front of the TV with my husband.  We had pizza-mine was leftover from the pizza we got tonight for Brynn and her friend who was spending the night, and Alan's was leftover from Friday.  We shared a beer from Pacific City.  Yum.  Jolee was off at dinner with Grace and her family-Brynn was upstairs with her friend.  It was almost like Alan and I were on a date...almost.
Looking out the window tonight I could see Brynn and her best friend Zoe making a gigantic sidewalk chalk hopscotch in front of our house.  They were giggling and playing-just like two 10year olds should.  It was good to see Brynn with her friend.
Alan is in bed-my poor husband was up and out the door shortly after 4am this morning-sometimes his job almost seems like he's a doctor-calls in the middle of the night, and having to hurry to work.  I don't know how he does it.  I pray God will keep his body and mind healthy rested.  Hearing his soft snores are comforting-I will be praying for no calls tonight, just sweet moments of sleep.
