Lessons From The Road

We're Back- and being home is wonderful. It's a delight to sleep in my own bed, with my own pillow, and my own sheets, and my own...EVERYTHING. But being on the Road Trip was a blessing too. Here's a few of the lessons I hope to remember for next time:

1. Every road trip is really just a series of potty breaks. Bring lots of hand sanitizer.

2. You don't need to bring a jump rope in your suitcase- exercise on "the road" ain't gonna happen.

3. Bring a pair of really good binoculars. The little dinky ones that come along in waterbottle camping sets don't work.

4. Bring more towels, less clothing-no, you're never going to need dress slacks.

5. A dirty laundry bag would have been a good idea.

6. "Free Breakfasts" at most hotel/motels means you'll only be eating mini muffins in cellophane, old cold coffee, two kinds of cereal your kids don't like anyway and some not so chilled milk for that cereal.

7. Cracker Barrel rocks- when are they getting one in Oregon?

8. Don't ever go to a water park on a weekend day.

9. Bugs are bigger and louder in other states.

10. A four man tent is only big enough for 4 very very small men.

I laughed, I cried

I know I heard these before as we talked, but I still laughed, especially the "very very small men" part...

Who are these "men" then use to determine tent size anyway?

"Big Tent Company is looking for men to help with tent sizing. If you are smaller than 5' 2" and weigh less than 115lbs., please apply ASAP!"

I love you. Thanks for the smiles along the way!
