Michelle's Top Ten

Upon request I'm going to try and create my Top Ten list from our Road Trip. I'm not sure I can make a heirarchy of my best moments/memories... but here is a list of Ten things that will certainly stay in my heart and mind for a long time.

1. Sitting with 93 year old Grandpa Ray on his couch in Texas looking for hours at pictures of his family and listening to him tell stories. It should have been on video tape-but I was too into the "moment" to think about what a treasured time I was letting slip by without recording it.

2. Seeing and talking with my dear friends Kathleen and Corinne. I really miss my friends. I felt God definitely had a hand in having us visit them at this particular time. I love you both!!

3. Holding Brynn's hand as she walked with eyes closed to the railing at the Grand Canyon. Her first look at God's awesome creation was spectacular.

4. Snugging VERY CLOSE in the tiny tent with my family. (And seeing a deer right outside our tent at Mather Campground, Grand Canyon the first morning we woke up in the tent.)

5. Watching Jolee enjoy every animal we saw on the trip-especially the dogs and horses.

6. Laughing and joking with Alan about my inability to get the camera out in time to take a picture of things I find interesting as we drive along.

7. Having Alan drive AND navigate. I'm really just good at looking out the window, talking and napping.

8. The fun we had (in spite of the lightening/thunder/the park being closed early and having to come back the next day-for free) at Hurricane Harbor-an awesome waterpark in Arlington, TX.

9. Seeing a mother Black Bear and 3 cubs as we drove thru Grand Teton National Park.

10. Feeling God's protection and love during our adventure and the joy of being safely back home.

Ah, how well I remember our

Ah, how well I remember our trip to the Grand Canyon several years ago. We enjoyed the north rim, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park before telling the kids we were headed to Disneyland from there. :) The canyons are awe inspiring to be sure - a great thing to share as a family. Good memories!
