Parents say the darndest things

Kids say the darndest things. Parents do, too.

We've all read emails and websites which have a list of amazing and bizarre phrases uttered by parents. For years, ever since Brynn could walk and talk (and probably even before that!), we've repeatedly said to ourselves, "I would have never imagined myself saying that. We need to write that one down." Alas, we rarely did. And now I feel sad that I didn't because there were some really silly-sounding things we said.

So, I chose now to try to remember and actually begin to write down and save these strange things. As new phrases come dribbling out of my mouth, I shall endeavor to record them here, constantly updating the list below.

• Please stop pounding the bread
• Into every life a little egg must fall
• Please don't lick the wall
