Monday
Mondays have a bad reputation. Rainy days and Mondays always got the Carpenders down. Manic Mondays made the Bangles crazy. Mondays seem to leave most people in a funk because they have to get back to work, face a whole week of work and wait 5 whole days until the glorious weekend.
Well not today my friend. Because today Jolee was well enough, after being sick for 3 days with a fever and cough, to go back to school. Alan and I went to Chapters for coffee-I had a gift card...free coffee is even better than paying for coffee. We spent a delightful 20 minutes on a morning date before heading to church to hold babies in the MOPS nursery. All the babies either smiled or slept the entire time-it was baby heaven!! We had 6 beautiful angels to snuggle with for 2 hours before safely returning them to their mommies. After taking Amalija to school, I came back home to get lunch and spent the next 3 hours working on emails/sending letters/writing letters. It was a quiet afternoon, and I let my self off the hook for not going to parent help at school. Good job me! As I sat working at the desk, Dorcas Smucker wrote me back that she'll be able to come speak at Women's Bible Fellowship. Yes!!! Then at 3pm I loaded up the van with Brynn's Girl Scout cookies that she sold to teachers/staff at school and we delivered about half of them before a staff meeting thwarted our plans. Since the sun was shining Brynn, Jolee, Toby and I went to the new neighborhood park. I visited with neighbors and felt like part of my community. Wow, fun. Neighbors. The kids played and the dog sniffed a neighbor dog, the sun kept on shining and we enjoyed ourselves throughly until I said it was time to go home and start dinner. I hadn't thawed the chicken yet. But with a hotter than normal oven - and Alan calling to let me know he was going to be home at least an hour and a half later than normal- I had time to make buttermilk biscuits (yes, from scratch) and get the chicken done just in time for a family dinner about 6:45pm.
This evening I have time to relax, finish up some Girls Camp stuff and reflect on the beauty of Monday.

It's nice to hear about
It's nice to hear about someone having a good Monday once in a while!
This reminds me of when Tamara Brand said she was living the good life. This is the good life!
