House Remodel Central

Hello and welcome back to the House Remodel Central page. As the project progresses, I'll use this page to link other pages or blogs related to the remodeling. Sure, you could just lick on the "-- remodel" category link to the right, but that's too messy for me.

6/27/2006 Is anything being done today?
Where is everyone? Inside the garage.
6/27/2006 Remodel Day 2
The work seemed to start out kinda slow, but that's because a lot of work had to be done inside the garage first. Sheer paneling walls, hanging joists, and finally, adding all the decking for the second story. It was fully decked by the end of the day.
6/28/2006 Remodel Day 3
Another slow-starting day as the walls are built on the floor and lifted up, but by the end of the day, we had all the exterior walls in place and ready for interior walls and trusses on Thursday.
6/29/2006 Remodel Day 4
Quiet, cool morning. But things got hopping quickly on the inside. The trusses got dropped today, too.

The final day of primary framing as the trusses get installed and the roof completely sheeted.

Although we'd been blessed with over a week, it rained today. We got a tarp over the roof just in time, though.

It's time for the roof to get dressed up for work and keep the rain out.

A weekly update on siding and mechanical, eletrical and finishing rough framing.
7/18/2006 Remodel Day 16
The electrical inspection passed, and we're racing to get HVAC completed before we have our rough inspection on framing, plumbing and mechanical today.
7/22/2006 Remodel Day 21
Apologies for not posting pictures and drywall is going up fast.
8/30/2006 Remodel Day ... too many
The remodel is nearly complete and it genuinely feels good, but also seems to be taking way too long to actually complete.
