The first sub-contractor
I came home early today from work to meet with my framer, plumber and mechanical sub contractors. It was a fairly quick meet and greet, and a few items were cleared up in terms of getting the demolition and rebuild done as efficiently as possible. Then, the plumber went to work for real and demoed out the supply and waste lines in the bathroom so that the framer can demo out the walls first thing next week. It was the first real work done by my first real sub.
While he was working, I zipped over to Parr to finalize the lumber and window order, and drop them some moolah. And then a dash up to Suburban Door in Sherwood to verify the type of casing needed on the floor, around the doors, and under the windows, to match what we've got. 21/8 in. Colonial casing. Yep. That's what I thought we had...
... right. They can build my order in 2-4 days, so with four weeks left until final carpentry, I've got time.
I'm not feeling so nervous about being general contractor on this job any more. I think I'm getting the hang of it.
