Clearing Out

Alan had an unexpected (I didn't expect it-he said it was planned) day off last week during Spring Break.  He spent almost the whole day clearing out the file cabinet, making piles of recycle and shred.  It was glorious!  I'm able to see about two more cubic feet of desk space now.  We still have a pile of receipts on the scanner (but I'll let that slide).  Meanwhile I have 3 file boxes sitting on the office floor waiting to find space in our full size filling cabinet. When May is over I'll be able to clear out the MOPS files and put in the Girls Camp files. Oh the joy of what I like to call "paper diarrhea."

One of the saddest parts of our office/craft room is that I haven't yet found time or space to craft.  What fun is it to pull out more paper, alas pretty paper, and create more of a mess making cards or scrapbooking.  It just aint' happening!  I'll get there eventually but not until we get our "important" mess cleaned up.

Brynn has really been bummed with the lack of hot weather- she thinks once the calendar says "Spring" that we should all be in tank tops and shorts.  Could someone remind my daughter that this is OREGON.  On the other hand I have to agree with her a smidge. Not because I'm ready to show off my cellulite/spider vein ridden gams-but because I'm ready for garage sale season.  When will it be warm and dry enough that I can get all this stuff cleared out of my garage?  I've got everything from light fixtures to old backpacks taking up half of our garage shelving.  I need it OUT.  But not so badly that I haven't just disposed of everything at Goodwill.  I like having garage sales-so I'll wait. Patience is a virtue. Innocent Wink

I know what ya mean!

We've had a case of paper diarrhea up here too, must be going around Yell We're in the process of making room for our "new addition" and I've realized what a pack rat I am -YIKES! But it does feel good to clean out desks and closests and do what needs to be done. There certainly is something liberating about it all...everyone should give it a try!!

In Oregon, Summer=July 5

In Oregon, Summer=July 5. We need a special Oregon calendar that reads "Spring (15 more weeks of rain)" and does not list summer in June, but rather July 5. That would be great. Until then, all clothing is ankle-length, and mid-calf the rest of summer. Except for swimsuits. Call me fuddy.
